Transforming Depression
Depression is the most common mental imbalance affecting people in the 21st century. The World Health Organisation estimate that by 2020, depression will be the number one cause of disability overtaking even cancer and heart disease. Depression is an emotional state that can have a very real physiological basis and is now characterised as a disorder of mental chemistry rather than character. Decreased production of neurotransmitters ( mainly serotonin but also including dopamine, noradrenaline and acetylcholine ) as well as the bombardment of everyday stresses can create these very rel and intense feelings of sadness and despair.
